Endangered Species
Endangered Species will be a series of photographic murals of locally endangered animals on the outside of public transit vehicles in the San Francisco Bay Area. The buswraps will cover entire buses, transforming them into images of habitats from the urban fringes moving through the city. Inserting surprise and beauty into everyday urban life, Endangered Species explores the universal values of mobility, group identity, access to food, work and home, which direct the use of land and shape the concept of home for all species. As the buses circulate throughout urban areas, the idea is to help people understand the broader meaning of buses, and transportation in general, as agents of conservation and change.
