The Diversity Abroad Foundation (DAF) has a commitment to minority high school students and undergraduates in universities as well as community colleges. Our vision is to provide equal access to minorities in the study abroad experience, and the benefits derived from international education and cross-cultural learning. Through study abroad and internship opportunities we aspire to prepare under-represented minority students for successful careers in the public and private sector in our global community.
Our mission is to increase the number of minority high school and college students who pursue study abroad through education, outreach programs and direct scholarship funding. Over 65% more non-minority than minority students study abroad in colleges and universities.
Global competence is essential for minority students to be successful citizens and leaders in an increasingly interdependent world. Study abroad is an invaluable opportunity that affords students to necessary skills to succeed in our global community. The Diversity Abroad Foundation aims to bring the benefits and opportunities afforded through study abroad to minority students.
